Tarot Reading About My Ex

Updated

The cards do not know your ex's mind. They do not know if a message is being drafted, or if you have become a story they tell once and put down. Any spread that deals a card called "their feelings" is a story you are telling with extra steps.

A tarot reading about my ex can show your side of an ending. Three cards: what actually ended, what you are still feeding, and the week you could have without a reply. The button will not deal a fourth card for them. Foresight here is a clearer look at your own hand. It is not a summons.

Three questions that stay on your side of the door

What ended

The fact, not the argument about the fact. A move, a lie, a slow cooling, a sentence somebody finally said. If this card is soft, do not toughen it to match your anger. If it is harsh, do not soften it to keep the door ajar. The ending is allowed to be ordinary. Most are.

What you are still feeding

The check of the phone. The draft. The conversation you replay to win it. The photograph. Memory is not the enemy. Living inside it is a place, and the Six of Cups names that place exactly: sweetness that is real, and also a room people move into. This seat asks what you fed today.

Your week, with no reply in it

Seven days that do not depend on them. Sleep, a meal with someone who answers, the box of their things actually leaving the chair. If the only action you can imagine is a message, the card is telling you the week is still organized around a reply. Read it again until an action survives their silence.

Shuffle and glosses match the rest of the site, as the methodology describes. Reversal means the picture turned inward or stalled, which on this question often means the ending or the feeding is aimed at you. Card pages linked from the draw hold the longer reading. The tarot reading will write a letter to your side of it. It still will not counterfeit theirs.

A letter, instead of a verdict

Read as a letter

You asked what they feel. I am not going to pretend the deck attended their evening.

What ended, in this example, is the Six of Cups. Memory handed over like a flower in a cup. The sweetness of a thing that is gone is real, and it is also a place people move into. The sweetness was real. You did not imagine the flower. You also moved into the memory and called the move a plan. The ending includes that move. The past closed, and then a second, quieter ending closed the room you built out of it, or it will when you walk out.

What you are feeding is The Devil. The collars would lift off over their heads if they stood up, and nobody has stood up. The collar would lift if you stood up. Nobody in the picture has stood up. The hook is not their charm, though charm helps. The hook is the check, the draft, the rule that says you may not eat until you know what they meant. Standing up is physical. Put the phone in the other room and eat.

Your week is the Four of Swords. The effigy laid out, three swords on the wall, one beneath him. Rest of the medical kind, not the indulgent kind. Rest of the medical kind. Not a spa day organized around refreshing their name. Sleep. Cancel the interpretive essay. One friend who will not workshop the relationship with you. If the week contains a message, the card has been ignored.

That is the whole letter. It does not say they miss you. It does not say they do not. It says the flower was real, the collar is loose, and the medicine is rest.

Your three cards will be different. Read them in the same shape: a fact, a feeding, a week. If you hear yourself adding "which means they still..." delete that clause. It did not come from the card. It came from the hope, and the hope is understandable. It is not a position in the spread.

The second shuffle

You will want another three cards. The first set mentioned rest, or a collar, or a spilled cup, and you wanted a card that looks like a knock at the door. There is a card that can be narrated that way. If you draw until it appears, you have not consulted anything. You have dealt past the answer to the picture you came for.

One spread. Write the sentence on paper, where you cannot edit it into kindness after dinner. Live the week the third card named. If, after that week, a new fact exists, a returned box, a real conversation, a month of silence you survived, you may ask a new question. "Do they love me" is the old question in a clean shirt.

If what you actually have is a bond that is not over, both of you still choosing, use the love tarot reading. It has a seat for two people. This page does not, on purpose. A yes or no draw is a worse shortcut: one card conscripted to mean "they come back." The cards that abstain on that page are doing you a favor, and the cards that seem to vote are not voting on a person.

The tarot hub can remind you what a hard card is. Stand up. On the example above, the collar was loose. On yours, look for the equivalent: the small physical act the picture has been waiting for you to do without an audience.

Before you draw on an ex

Can tarot tell me if my ex will come back?

No. A return is their action, taken in a life you cannot see. Three cards can show what ended, what you are still feeding, and what your next week is for. They cannot sign their name to a reconciliation. If a page promises that, it is selling the hope, not reading the cards.

What should a reading about an ex ask instead?

Ask what is over, what you keep alive, and what you will do in the next seven days without a reply from them. Those three have answers you can test. What they feel at 1 a.m. does not. Write the question down before you shuffle, and throw it out if their diary is required.

Is it wrong to draw cards about an ex?

It is ordinary, and it goes wrong in a specific way. The draw becomes a way to stay in the relationship without the person. One honest spread, read as your conduct, is a fair use. A nightly draw about their motives is not divination. It is the hook.

Why does a second draw make it worse?

The first spread gave you a sentence you can act on. The second is usually a request for a kinder sentence. A kinder picture is in the deck. Hunting for it means you are reading your preference. Wait until the week you named has actually happened.

When does a love reading fit better?

When you are still together, or when the question is how you love, not how to reopen a closed door. The love spread has a seat for the bond and a seat for the next conversation between people who can both speak. If only one of you is in the room, that spread flatters a dialogue that is not happening.

If the question changes

A longer letter, still about you

Three cards name your side. The reading can write that side out. It still will not speak for someone who is not here. Foresight, not fate.
